An Elopement at Horseshoe Bend.

The first time I went to Horseshoe Bend I was winded, not in the “it took my breath away” type of winded, but WINDED. It was probably 107 out and mid-day. That was a mistake.

Never again.

This time, it was a completely different story. Everything was perfect. Aside from the (almost) invisible crowds of tourists and strangers shamelessly making their way into your shots to get a shot of their own. Ugh…but such is life, and how incredible it was to be blessed with such a view!

Horseshoe Bend is a timeless beauty that calls people from all over the globe to come and see her dynamic landscape.

If you ever get the chance, GO.

And please, go any day that isn’t mid-day, mid-summer. Bring lots of water and take some time to put down the phone, the camera, and whatever other electronics you might have to just take it all in.

The orange tones of this red rock are FAR from the neverending green landscape I grew up with, but man, I’ve never been so in love with the color before!
